a) Responsible for all safety and health functions at the factory including developing, monitoring, maintaining, and implementing statutory safety requirements.
b) Evaluate work environment, identify potential hazards, and implement new work procedures to eliminate hazards.
c) Develop programs, training plans, and workshops to promote occupational safety and HIV/AIDs issues with local stakeholders.
d) Ensure that all the staff has safety clothes, shoes, masks, hand gloves, and other important aspects of safety.
e) Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
f) Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
g) Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
h) Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.
i) Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
•Grade 12 certificate
•Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position.
•Valid competency certificates.
•Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
•Strong communication skills.
